Membership

Members of the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation share a common objective: to understand – and learn – how to optimise the performance of their organisation through the use of a proven performance management framework.

Membership is available for both organisations and individuals. In addition to membership, we also welcome opportunities  to receive support from or partner with  other like-minded organisations that want to see New Zealand grow in capability and productivity.

 Membership Types 

 
» Patron - organisations/individuals that support NZ Business Excellence to provide services to its members and to be the catalyst for more NZ organisations to attain performance excellence. Determined by negotiation with the CEO and with permission and agreement of the NZ Business Excellence Board
 
» Partner - - an organisation that has an agreed business support agreement and relationship with NZ Business Excellence. This may include membership
 
» Corporate - an organisation within the public or private sectors, including small to medium businesses. This type also includes all state services, local government, and education establishments.
 
» Not for Profit -a non-corporate organisation with charitable status that meets our not for profit criteria. They receive the additional benefit of a discounted membership fee.
 
» Individual - individual members, such as consultants, owner-operators, or employees of both member and non-member organisations.

» Who can be a member of NZ Business Excellence? 
Membership is open to any organisation wishing to join, regardless of type of business, size, or sector .

» Who else is a member? 
Our extensive 100+ membership base includes local and central government; healthcare and disability; alongside a number of commercial businesses. Some of these organisations include the NZ Defence Force; Police; IRD; Auckland Council; a number of other District and Regional councils;  and much more.  

Membership is open to any organisation wishing to join, regardless of type of business, size, or sector.

» How do I join? 
Complete our online membership application and email it through to us at info@nzbef.org.nz. Please include your organisational chart. A confirmation email will sent to you.  
If you have any questions about your membership status or type, feel free to give us a call on 09 486 3652.
 
» How much does it cost to be a member? 
We keep it very simple, where membership fees are based upon staff numbers. The types of memberships and associated investment are detailed in the table below. If your organisation is interested in becoming a Patron or Partner of NZ Business Excellence, please contact us via phone 09 489 8791 or email at info@nzbef.org.nz  
 
» What are the first steps? 
Members are given an understanding of the best practice management framework, the Baldrige Excellence Framework tailored for NZ and further detail about membership services. We will work with you to determine what fits best with you as this is a long journey
 
» Is NZ Business Excellence primarily about awards? 
Absolutely not.  NZ Business Excellence is primarily about assisting organisations on their business improvement journeys. Our awards programme is an important service but an organsiation does not need to participate.
